You need to be minimum of 16 years old to get your G1 license With your G1 license received, you need to wait for 12 months to get your G2 license after passing the road test. If you complete MTO (Ministry Transportation of Ontario) approved driving school course (it is called BDE - Beginner Driver Education course), your waiting time is reduced to 8 months. So, you can get G2 license after 12 months without driving school course and after 8 months with driving school certificate. You can get G license (Full Driving License) after a year from receiving your G2. So, there is a MINIMUM 1 year wait between G2 and G licenses.

You can complete the graduated license system in as little as 20 months, and you have MAXIMUM 5 years. As a G1 driver you can’t drive alone. You will have to:.

I know this is a random place to ask but Im sure a fellow Ontario resident can tell me what they learned from their experience/s from the driving test. I failed my G2 licensing the first time because, 1, I was nervous and it showed with fidgety moves on the road, but more importantly, because of certain things I had no idea the instructor was specifically looking for. For example, when I made a left turn, I 'Straddled' the lane I turned into, (the leftest lane). What I was SUPPOSED to do, was switch to the right and straddle it till the instructor told me to do something else. That was the main reason I failed.

Next time I was very confident and got my license within 7 minutes, despite a crappy parking job at the end of the exam. This time its a little more urgent since I wont get a second chance as my g2 license is expiring 2 days after my scheduled g exam. So I really would appreciate all the helpful advice Ontario drivers or Canadian drivers in general can give me from their experience during their g test. Gathering from what most people have already told me Im expecting the G test to be everything the G2 test was plus the expressway and parallel parking. Ive heard that you need to move to the leftest lane and straddle it till instructed to exit, but that doesnt sound right since the left lane is the express lane. Ive heard that if merging into the highway, if the driver behind you moves over you automatically fail for 'forcing the car into the other lane'.

Which is a little unsettling, since everyone speeds and I am not allowed to even go 1km over the limit for a second. Just looking for confirmation, tips and any advice, tell me why u failed the first, 2nd, 3rd or fourth time. Tell me why u passed, or BARELY passed. Im not too worried about parallel parking but if u have any helpful tips on that as well I would love to hear them.

THANKS FOR ANY AND ALL OF YOUR HELP GUYS! I know this is a random place to ask but Im sure a fellow Ontario resident can tell me what they learned from their experience/s from the driving test. DangerHiVoltage First off, on the highway, you travel in the right lane unless noted otherwise. Just like normal. Don't go over the speed limit.

Every opening.street, parking entrance, etc.you are supposed to show head movement to show ypu're paying attention to potential dangers. If you don't do this, you fail. Yes, check ones you saw 500m away that are abandoned, because otherwise it's a points loss, and those will accumulate.

Do mirror checks often. Don't stop abruptly.Do your three point turn in the correct order. You shouldn't be expected to back into a parking stall if your car is already backed in upon the start of the test. Head movements eh, ive been criticized for not doing it but im just using my eyeballs without turning my head much at all.

Ima be a bobblehead during the test DangerHiVoltage don't do that just be very casual remember your main focus should be on the road. Your eyes should be looking around and then focus back on the road and make slight head movements when you pass streets and keep alert but the main focus is always on the road. Look at rear view mirror when stopping check streets blindspots side mirrors when necessary.
